SEO That Makes You the Answer ChatGPT Gives
Technical SEO, local SEO, and the newer work of getting quoted by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews. One engagement, measured in enquiries and citations rather than sessions.
What you get, and what changes
SEO services India now means two jobs, not one. The first is the familiar one: getting a page into a ranked list of links. The second is getting quoted inside the answer an assistant writes when it decides not to show that list at all. NodeAscend runs both as a single engagement — technical SEO, local SEO, answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) — because they share a foundation and splitting them across two vendors produces contradictory advice.
What our SEO Services India covers
Being the source an assistant quotes
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews answer the question instead of listing ten links. Getting cited means writing checkable statements, marking them up so a machine can parse them, and making sure the claim on the page is the claim in the schema. We restructure pages so an assistant can lift an answer without guessing.
Showing up inside generated answers
GEO is the retrieval half of the problem. Assistants build answers from a small set of sources they trust for a topic, so the work is entity consistency, corroboration across third-party sources, and content depth on a narrow subject rather than shallow coverage of many. If your name, address and claims differ across the web, retrieval treats you as several weak entities instead of one strong one.
Nothing ranks on a site Google struggles to read
Indexation coverage against what should be indexed, Core Web Vitals measured on throttled mobile, structured data validity, canonical and redirect logic, and internal link depth. The most common finding on Indian sites we audit is duplicated intent — several URLs written for one phrase, so search engines pick one at random and the rest dilute it.
The fastest-moving work in most engagements
Category selection, complete service lists, review generation, citation consistency and Map Pack positioning. For service businesses this is routinely the highest-return work available and it needs no advertising budget — see the numbers further down this page.
Fewer, stronger pages
Built from queries Search Console shows you already receive impressions for, not from a keyword tool export nobody checks against reality. The recurring pattern we find is pages sitting at positions 8 to 20 for commercial phrases with real volume — worth more than any new page, because the page already exists.
Enquiries, not sessions
Call tracking configured before any other work, because otherwise phone enquiries are invisible and every report afterwards is guesswork. Plus AI-citation tracking: we log which assistants name you for which prompts, monthly, so AI visibility is a number rather than a feeling.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

Getting cited means writing checkable statements, marking them up so a machine can parse them, and making sure the claim on the page is the claim in the schema. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

GEO is the retrieval half of the problem. Assistants build answers from a small set of sources they trust for a topic, so the work is entity consistency, corroboration across third-party sources, and content depth on a narrow subject rather than shallow coverage of many. Technical SEO
Local SEO & Google Business Profile
The fastest-moving work in most engagements
Category selection, complete service lists, review generation, citation consistency and Map Pack positioning. For service businesses this is routinely the highest-return work available and it needs no advertising budget — see the numbers further down this page.
Content & Authority
Fewer, stronger pages
Built from queries Search Console shows you already receive impressions for, not from a keyword tool export nobody checks against reality. The recurring pattern we find is pages sitting at positions 8 to 20 for commercial phrases with real volume — worth more than any new page, because the page already exists.
Measurement & Reporting
Enquiries, not sessions
Call tracking configured before any other work, because otherwise phone enquiries are invisible and every report afterwards is guesswork. Plus AI-citation tracking: we log which assistants name you for which prompts, monthly, so AI visibility is a number rather than a feeling.
Search Work That Survives the Next Update
Engineers who ship the fix
We implement the technical work ourselves rather than handing your developer a spreadsheet and waiting a quarter. Schema, Core Web Vitals, redirects and internal linking are code changes, and we write code.
AI citations are a tracked number
A fixed prompt set run monthly against four assistants, logged, so AI visibility is something you can watch move rather than a claim in a deck.
Consolidation before publishing
The most common cap on an Indian site's rankings is several pages chasing one phrase. Fixing that is cheaper and faster than writing more, so we do it first.
Call tracking before anything else
Most enquiries in this market arrive by phone. Without attribution set up first, every subsequent report is guesswork, so it is step one rather than an add-on.
Entity consistency as retrieval work
Name, address, phone and claims identical everywhere. Assistants that see three versions of you treat you as three weak entities instead of one credible one.
We will tell you not to buy
If your rankings are healthy, your entity data is clean and there are no duplicate-intent pages, the audit says so. That happens, and we would rather say it than sell a retainer.
What SEO services India means when buyers ask an assistant first
A buyer researching a supplier in 2026 does not always start at a search box. A growing share of them open ChatGPT or Perplexity, describe the problem in a sentence, and read a synthesised answer that names three or four companies. No ranked list, no ten blue links, and often no click at all.
That does not make SEO obsolete. Those assistants are reading the same web, and the sources they name are overwhelmingly the ones that already rank, already have consistent entity data, and already make checkable claims. What changes is the shape of the work: it is no longer enough to be findable, you have to be quotable.
AEO, GEO and AIO: what the acronyms actually mean
The terms get used interchangeably by people selling them, which is a reason to be careful about who you buy from. Here is how we use them.
AEO — answer engine optimization. Getting your page used as the source of an answer. This is a content structuring problem. Assistants lift statements that are unambiguous, self-contained and specific. "We deliver quality solutions" cannot be quoted by anything. "A five-to-eight page static site takes 10 to 14 days from approved content" can.
GEO — generative engine optimization. Getting into the retrieval set an assistant draws from before it writes anything. This is an entity and corroboration problem rather than a page problem. It depends on your name, address and claims being identical everywhere, on third-party sources agreeing with your own site, and on having real depth on a narrow topic rather than thin coverage of many.
AIO — AI optimization. Usually an umbrella term for both. We do not treat it as a separate service, and if a vendor is selling AIO as a distinct line item on top of AEO and GEO, ask what is in it.
How assistants actually choose who to name
From what is observable, three things decide it, and only one of them is about your website.
Retrieval. The assistant pulls a small set of candidate sources. Ranking well still matters enormously here, because retrieval leans on the same signals search does. This is why AI visibility work that ignores technical SEO does not work.
Corroboration. It prefers claims that more than one source supports. A statement that appears only on your own website is weaker than one echoed in a directory listing, a review, or a third-party article. This is the part most agencies skip, because it is slow.
Extractability. It quotes what it can lift cleanly. Specific numbers, named entities, dated statements, structured data that matches the visible copy. A page whose schema says one thing and whose text says another is worse than a page with no schema, because the contradiction makes both untrustworthy.
Shivam Test House: 3 calls a month to 35+
Shivam Test House is a materials testing laboratory in Faridabad. Their Google Business Profile was producing around 50 views and two or three calls a month. Nothing was broken — the listing existed and the phone worked. It simply did not say what buyers were typing.
Six weeks of structured local search work, with no advertising running:
- Profile views: about 50 a month to 800+
- Calls from Google: 3 to 35+ a month
- Map Pack visibility for 15+ commercial keywords, including "material testing Faridabad"
- Direction requests: near zero to 60+ a month
Total advertising spend: ₹0. The gain came from category selection, a complete service list, review generation, and matching profile language to the phrases buyers actually use. We will not pretend every business sees this — a testing lab has high local intent and shallow competition on Maps. The point is that the ceiling is usually far above the current number and finding out is cheap.
What each SEO discipline actually covers
These get bundled under one word and priced as one thing, which makes quotes impossible to compare. They are separate bodies of work with different timelines.
| Discipline | What it covers | First signal |
|---|---|---|
| Technical SEO | Crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema that matches visible content | 2–6 weeks |
| Local SEO | Google Business Profile, categories, citations, review generation, Map Pack visibility | 4–8 weeks |
| Content and authority | Topic coverage, internal linking, earned mentions, entity consistency across the web | 3–6 months |
| AEO / GEO | Extractable claims, corroboration across third-party sources, citation tracking across assistants | 3+ months, read as direction |
How we report AI visibility
This is the part of the engagement we get asked to explain most, so here is the method in full.
At the start we agree a fixed set of prompts — typically 20 to 40 — phrased the way your buyers would actually phrase them. Not keywords: sentences. "Who can build a materials testing lab a website that ranks locally in Faridabad" rather than "seo faridabad".
Each month we run that set against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews, and log which companies and sources get named in each response. That produces a citation share per engine that you can watch across months.
Two honest caveats. Outputs vary between runs and between accounts, so a single month's number means little — we read direction over three or more months. And no assistant publishes its ranking factors, so this is measurement, not a control panel. Anyone offering you a dial to turn is selling something.
Where this page ends and digital marketing begins
This page owns organic search and AI visibility: technical SEO, local SEO, content and authority, AEO and GEO. If you also want Google Ads, paid social, campaign strategy and the commercial mix managed, that is digital marketing services, and the two are usually run together.
For work scoped to one city rather than nationally, we keep separate pages so the local detail stays real: SEO company in Faridabad and SEO services in Delhi NCR.
How We Work
Baseline
Search Console export, full crawl, Google Business Profile review, and a first run of the AI prompt set to see who gets cited today.
Diagnose
Indexation, Core Web Vitals, schema validity, and the duplicate-intent audit that finds pages competing with each other.
Consolidate
Merge and redirect pages chasing the same phrase before adding anything new. Usually the largest single movement in the engagement.
Structure
Schema that matches the copy, question-shaped headings, and claim-level statements an assistant can quote without inferring.
Corroborate
Entity consistency across directories and third-party sources, review generation, and citations that make retrieval trust you.
Measure
Monthly reporting on enquiries and calls, plus the logged AI citation share across four assistants.
Tools We Use
Key Takeaways
Quick summary — everything you need to know about our SEO Services India service
- This page owns search and AI visibility — technical SEO, local SEO, AEO and GEO. Paid channels and campaign strategy sit on digital marketing services.
- A Faridabad testing lab went from 3 calls a month to 35+ in six weeks on zero ad spend, entirely from Google Business Profile and local search structure.
- AI citations are tracked monthly against a fixed prompt set across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, so AI visibility is a number.
- Duplicate-intent pages are audited before any new content — several URLs chasing one phrase is the most common cap on rankings we find.
- No ranking or citation guarantees, no lock-in contracts, and an audit that will tell you to do nothing if nothing needs doing.
Common Questions
What does SEO services India cost?
Three shapes. A one-time technical, local and AI-visibility audit delivered as a prioritised backlog your team executes. Fractional senior hours each month for review and sign-off over work your own team does. Or a managed retainer where we execute. What moves the number is how many pages exist, whether the site can be edited without a developer, how much content must be written from scratch, and whether Maps and reviews are in scope. We quote after reading your Search Console data, never before.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO gets you into a ranked list of links. AEO — answer engine optimization — gets you quoted inside the answer an assistant writes instead of that list. GEO — generative engine optimization — is the retrieval side: being in the small set of sources an assistant trusts for your topic in the first place. They share a foundation, which is why we sell them as one engagement rather than three products, but the work is not identical and pretending it is would be dishonest.
Is AI search actually sending traffic yet, or is this hype?
It sends less traffic than Google and more than zero, and the trend is one-directional. The honest framing is that AI answers are compressing click volume on informational queries while commercial queries still mostly produce clicks. What you lose in informational traffic you can partly recover by being the cited source, because a citation carries brand weight even without the click. We would rather tell you that than promise an AI traffic channel that does not yet exist at scale.
How is this page different from your digital marketing service?
This page owns search and AI visibility: technical SEO, local SEO, AEO, GEO, content and authority. Digital marketing owns paid channels, social, campaign strategy and the commercial mix around them. Most businesses that call us about AIO or GEO want this page. If you want Google Ads and paid social managed alongside, that is the digital marketing engagement and the two are usually run together.
Do you guarantee rankings or AI citations?
No, and a guarantee should make you walk away. Nobody controls Google's ranking systems and nobody controls which sources an assistant chooses. What we commit to is a documented baseline, a prioritised backlog, work you can verify, and monthly reporting against enquiries and logged citations. If the work is not producing, we say so rather than reframing the metrics.
How do you measure whether AI search work is doing anything?
We run a fixed prompt set against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews each month and log which sources get named for each prompt. That gives a citation share you can watch move. It is not a perfect metric — outputs vary between runs and between accounts — so we treat direction over several months as the signal rather than any single month.
Does llms.txt actually matter?
It is cheap and it is not magic. No major assistant has committed to reading it as a ranking input. What it does reliably is give an agent that fetches your site a clean, unambiguous summary of who you are and which pages are canonical, which reduces the chance of it inventing something. We publish one at nodeascend.com/llms.txt and treat it as entity hygiene, not a growth lever.
How long before SEO produces enquiries?
Local SEO and Google Business Profile work moves fastest — the testing lab result on this page took six weeks. Technical fixes surface in Search Console within two to six weeks. Content and authority work on competitive national phrases takes three to six months. Anyone promising faster on a competitive term is either buying links or describing a keyword nobody searches.
We already rank well on Google. Do we need this?
Possibly not, and we will tell you if so. The case for doing anything is usually one of three things: assistants are naming competitors and not you for prompts your buyers use, your entity data is inconsistent enough across the web that retrieval treats you as several weak entities, or you have duplicate-intent pages quietly capping the rankings you already have. If none of those are true, the audit will say so and you have spent very little.
Do you work with businesses outside India?
Yes. Our service area is India, the United States, Canada and Australia. Search and AI-visibility work is not location-dependent in the way an on-site engagement would be, though local SEO obviously is — for a business outside India we would be working on national and AI visibility rather than Map Pack positioning in a city we do not know.
What do you need from us to start?
Read access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics and the Google Business Profile, and one person who can answer questions about how enquiries actually arrive and which ones are worth having. If Search Console is not set up we set it up, but the baseline then starts from zero and the first eight weeks are largely data collection.
Can you fix a site that lost visibility after an algorithm update?
Often, once we identify what the update targeted. The work is diagnosis first: compare the drop date to known update dates, isolate which page types and query types lost visibility, and determine whether the cause was content quality, duplication or something technical. Recovery is slower than growth, and we will say plainly if we think a site is not recoverable in its current shape.
